PhD in Modelling Electricity Markets with Multi-Agent Deep Reinforcement Learning
Nick Harder received his M.Sc. degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering from the University of Freiburg, Germany, in 2019. During his studies, he worked as a Research Assistant at Fraunhofer ISE, where he supported projects on energy flexibility and decentralized power systems. Since 2019, he has been a Ph.D. candidate and Research Associate at the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering (INATECH), University of Freiburg. He obtained his PhD in 2025 with the topic Modelling electricity markets with multi-agent deep reinforcement learning.
His research explores agent-based modeling of energy markets, grid flexibility, and the role of distributed energy resources in decarbonizing industrial sectors.
