Every year, Campus Phase Week brings the SEE community together, students, lecturers and team for a week of learning, interaction, and shared experiences.

The 2025 program, running from the 6th to the 11th of October 2025, promised an enriching blend of academic learning, industry exposure, and social connection. The week began with laboratory workshops for our students, held from the 6th until the 8th of October. Our official social events started on Thursday, October 9th, with a morning of insightful academic sessions.

Participants were welcomed with a Welcome Talk by Prof. Dr. Anke Weidlich, followed by a seminar presented by Dr. rer. nat. Patrick Schygulla. In the early afternoon, everyone enjoyed exploring Freiburg and its sustainable initiatives during a Green City Tour with Aiforia.

The highlight of the day was the Graduation Ceremony, a moment dedicated to celebrating the dedication and academic achievements of our recent graduates, joined by their families, friends, and our program director, Prof. Dr. Stefan Glunz.To conclude the day, a Social Dinner was held at Hermann Café. This gathering offered the perfect opportunity for students, lecturers, tutors, alumni, and the management team to meet, network, and strengthen the community over a shared meal.

Graduation Ceremony

Friday, October 10th, was dedicated entirely to the Fraunhofer ISE Day, offering a deep dive into industry-leading research and cutting-edge solar technologies. The program, which included multiple lab tours and presentations from Fraunhofer ISE researchers, began at Haidhaus. The morning featured a Fraunhofer ISE Overview & Introduction by Timo Sigurdsson and a specialized talk on Applied Storage Systems by Ricarda Högl, followed by two guided lab tours. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to the Module Technology Center. Participants were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Stefan Glunz, followed by an Introduction to the Module Technology Center by Prof. Dr. Holger Neuhaus, and a guided tour of the facility.

The final day of Campus Phase Week, Saturday, October 11th, offered a spectacular scenic adventure: a Day Trip to the Todtnau Waterfall. This excursion took participants to one of Germany’s most beautiful natural waterfalls in the Black Forest, providing a relaxed yet memorable experience. The trip included a hike to the waterfall and the added excitement of crossing the impressive BLACKFORESTLINE suspension bridge.

A huge thank you to all the participants for making this event possible. From the insightful lectures and industry visits to the memorable social moments, this week offered a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved to learn and connect. We look forward to next year’s Campus Phase Week 2026!
