1)    Study Plan

Divide the study load to time so that you have an exact timeline that shows when each chapter will be studied.

Pro Tip: Reserve one week or at least five days before the exam day just for revision.

2)    Study Place

Make sure to study in a quiet place with good illumination. An organized desk helps you to concentrate much better.

3)    Eliminate Disturbances

Is it social media notifications? Put your mobile phone on the silent mode or turn off the internet connection for a specific period so you can completely concentrate on what you are studying. Avoid anything that can cause a disturbance.

4)    Study Efficiently

Do you learn better by watching explanatory videos? Or do you prefer to go through a big reference book? Some people are visual learners; others are auditory others are verbal. Define the best way for you to understand or remember information and apply it.

Pro Tip: Highlight or take notes of the specific parts that you need to read or solve again so that you can quickly go through them in the revision period just before the exam day.

5)    Small Milestones

Define small milestones that you can reward yourself after accomplishing. Such as: “after solving this chapter’s problems,I’ll take a 10-mins break.” Or “after watching this lecture video, I’ll treat myself with a healthy snack.”

6)    Previous Exams

Solving previous exams is an excellent way to train yourself on how to pace yourself and answer questions on the exam day.

Pro Tip: Set an alarm with the specific time allowed for the real exam so that you learn how to plan your time on the exam day and do not run out of time.

7)    Sharing with Friends

One of the techniques that always works for me is to explain parts that you already studied to a friend. This practice helps you remember the information afterwards.

8)    Exam Day Preparation

Finish revising early on the night before the exam. Prepare your stuff for the exam day: 2 pens, a pencil, calculator (if needed), if notes or formula sheet is allowed print it, prepare your clothes, a bottle of water and anything you will need in the exam. Have a good night’s8-hour sleep. On the exam day, have a good, healthy breakfast in the morning and be present at the exam place a bit earlier.

Pro-tip for the online exams: Check your system, internet connection and any specific software that you will use for the exam some days before the exam day.
